Office Policies regarding Covid-19 and Patient Care
- In order to protect our patients:
- All staff in our office are fully vaccinated for Covid-19
- Patients who are not fully vaccinated for Covid-19 will be required to either: 1) present a negative Covid-19 test result, administered by a facility within 2 days prior to the appointment, or 2) an antigen test will be performed in the office before the appointment. - All persons in the office shall wear a mask at all times.
- The doctor and medical assistant (MA) will wear gloves at all times when touching a patient.
- We will now have an MA present at all times during patient hours.
- MA will assist in greeting patients
- Taking vital signs in the waiting room.
- Assist during procedures
- Answer the phone when possible.
- MA enters the office back door, changes into scrubs. Changes into street clothes to leave the office. Maintains dedicated pair of shoes to wear in the office that are not worn outside.
- Patients are asked to bring only one other person to accompany them
- Waiting room:
- HEPA air filter will be used 24 hours per day.
- Appointments will be scheduled so that a half hour interval will occur between each patient. This will allow ample time for the additional cleaning and preparation for the next patient.
- All patients will have their pulse ox and infra-red temperature checked in the waiting room.
- Touchless infrared temperature, if greater than 37.5 C (99.5F) patient will be sent home and asked to follow up immediately with their PCP.
- Pulse oximetry
- Normal is 92-99% saturation while breathing “Room Air”.
- If low, patient will be sent home and asked to follow up immediately with their PCP
- The door from the waiting room leading into the patient rooms will remain closed until a patient is brought into a room.
- The glass partition between the reception desk and the waiting room will remain closed at all times.
- Hand sanitizer will be available for patient use in the waiting room.
- All reading materials and food have been removed from the waiting room. Patients desiring a snack or water may ask the MA who will be happy to provide.
- Water will be in single serving containers only, such as bottles or cans. The water dispenser has been removed.
- Room procedure
- All of the pillows used will be covered in plastic, and a disposable pillowcase.
- The pillowcases will be changed after each use, and the plastic pillow covering will be wiped with a sanicloth.
- The exam/treatment table will be wiped off with a sanicloth after each patient.
- Tight fitting face disposable cradle covers will be discarded after each patient.
- MA will assist Dr. Schulman with all or most procedure.
- Cleaning
- The office is professionally cleaned weekly
- Sheets and towels are professionally laundered by a medical-grade linen service.
